The Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering (TAME) is pleased to announce that longtime partner Shell Oil Company has generously awarded $90,000 to empower Texas students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math. Since its first gift to TAME in 1978, Shell has helped to build a STEM workforce that looks like Texas.
The funding will support all aspects of the TAME Trailblazer Program, bringing an innovative, mobile STEM engagement experience to students. The grant also funded the Outstanding Senior Award at the 2018 State STEM Competition, presented to Brisa Diaz, a high school senior from Everman Joe C. Bean High School in TAME’s Dallas Chapter. Brisa plans to attend The University of Texas at Arlington and pursue a degree in Aerospace Engineering this fall.
