The Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering (TAME) is pleased to announce that longtime partner Lockheed Martin has generously awarded $35,000 to empower Texan students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math.
The funding supported the 2018 State STEM Competition, which celebrated achievement in science, technology, engineering, and math. Lockheed’s support helped keep the annual event completely free for all students, and for the more than 75 teachers who chaperoned them. Since the competition was hosted at a camp, Lockheed funds were used to provide sleeping bags for all students. Removing financial barriers to participation is a key focus of the STEM Competitions. Lockheed’s support helps students focus on what matters: learning.
