On Friday, February 9, 2024 at Texas Tech University, 84 middle and high school students from the Lubbock Region – came together for the 2024 TAME Regional Engineering Competition and clean energy challenge!

The day flew by as teams of TAME Engineers worked together to plan and design creative solutions to replace carbon-based fuel sources with clean, affordable and renewable sources of energy. The Regional Competition theme of clean and affordable energy is based on Lesson 7 of TAME’s 2023-24 curriculum and aligns with global goals for sustainable development, outlined by the United Nations.

The TAME competition at Texas Tech University had 21 mixed-age teams.

• The top six scoring teams were recognized at the event.
• Engineering Mindset Awards honored students who exemplified TAME’s 5Cs of engineering (Curious, Creative, Collaborative, Committed, Contributive).
• TAME’s Senior Awards were given the students and graduating seniors that have been most committed to learning through TAME’s programs.

TAME would also like to extend our deepest thanks to the partners and funders that supported the 2024 Lubbock Regional Competition, including Texas Tech University.
