2019 TAME Wichita Falls Texas STEM Competition Results

(Wichita Falls, TX) – The 2019 TAME Wichita Falls Texas STEM Competition was hosted at the Wichita Falls Career Education Center on Saturday February 9, 2019. The free event brought together more than 85 student competitors from across the region. 

Texas students from grades 6-12 competed in individual math and science tests and as part of a team to solve an Engineering Design Challenge. Participants have been sworn to secrecy about the Challenge – at least until March 3rd, when students across the state have had their chance to try their skills solving the same problem. This year's challenge was developed by engineers from ConocoPhillips.

$20K from Arconic Foundation Powers Wichita Falls STEM Education

The Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering (TAME) is pleased to announce that longtime partner Arconic Foundation has generously awarded $20,000 to empower Texas students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math.

The funding will support a variety of programs for the Wichita Falls TAME Chapter, such as the 2019 Wichita Falls Divisional STEM Competition, and visits from the TAME Trailblazer mobile STEM museums to schools in Wichita Falls. Since its first gift to TAME in 1985, Arconic Foundation has helped to build a workforce that looks like Texas.
