2018 TAME San Antonio STEM Competition Results



(San Antonio, TX) – The 2018 TAME San Antonio STEM Competition was hosted at St. Philip's College MLK Campus  on Saturday, March 3, 2018. The event, offered free of cost to participants, brought together more than 140 student competitors (grades 6-12) from across the region.

Students competed in individual math and science tests and as part of an Engineering Design Challenge. This year's challenge was developed by engineers from Raytheon. The top six finishers in each test and the top three teams from the Engineering Design Challenge were recognized. One team also received a special Judges' Choice Award for creative problem solving. One student from each grade level was recognized as the Ace Award Winner for the highest combined math and science score.

Club & Student Registration Now Open

TAME Club and Student Registration are now open for the 2017-18 School Year!

Membership with TAME is a two-part process. First the sponsor completes the annual Club Registration, then the students in their club will be able to complete their Student Registration. 

Students will be able to register only after the Adult Sponsor registers the TAME Club.

DEADLINE: If you are in grades 6-12 and want to participate in the Divisional or State STEM Competitions, the deadline to register Clubs and Students online is Wednesday, November 15th.

What's the most important part of engineering?

It just might be asking questions. This year, as always, we asked our teachers, volunteers, and board members to give us feedback on TAME programs. We received 76 impassioned responses to the end of year survey, and the message is clear: TAME programs are working, but we need to make some refinements.

Here’s what we took away from 76 responses: first, how can we keep the State STEM Competitions going? Second, what test structure will be most effective for the Divisional and State STEM Competitions? And third, how can we make sure that TAME programs focus most on underserved students, even as we welcome all interested students to participate?
