As 2022 ends, there is so much to celebrate! It’s the end of our first school semester not interrupted by pandemic closures, and TAME has so much to look forward to in 2023 and beyond.
Currently across Texas, 2,000 students are participating in TAME Clubs. The vast majority (82%) are from TAME’s focus population of students from Black, Indigenous, and Latinx communities, as well as girls.
All students in over 120 TAME Clubs are using TAME’s new shared curriculum focused on water purification and the role engineers play in helping the world access clean water.
For more than 40 years, TAME has been helping Texas students fall in love with engineering.

In addition to research-informed program updates, TAME is adapting our structure to better support our Chapters, deliver a high-quality learning experience for all students, and assess the impact of our work.
Highlights from TAME’s strategy:
- Integrating a Shared Engineering Curriculum – TAME’s curriculum focuses on real-world engineering challenges like water access and purification. The curriculum builds year over year and is the foundation for TAME Clubs and Competitions. (Peek at this year’s curriculum here.)
- Strengthening and Aligning TAME Chapter Structure – TAME is adapting our structure to increase support and resources for TAME Chapters and align priorities, processes, and metrics across all TAME Chapters.
- Improving Evaluation Systems – TAME is developing a community-led evaluation plan to inform our impact measures in 2023 and beyond and to further ensure equity in our programs. This work is in partnership with the local Austin organization MEASURE.
Together, we can have an even greater impact and support more of our budding engineers to overcome hurdles and succeed in engineering.
Your financial contribution to TAME before the end of the year will ensure we can continue to spark students’ curiosity in engineering and support their pathway toward an engineering career.
On behalf of myself and the TAME Board of Directors, thank you. We are so grateful for your support.
