Every year, the TAME Trailblazers travel over 20,000 miles and bring the excitement of STEM to over 20,000 Texas students. And thanks to a generous donation of $70,000 from the Tocker Foundation, we’re really going places! The Tocker Foundation will make it possible for the Trailblazer science-on-wheels units to visit 40 small and rural libraries across Texas this summer.
“We loved having the Trailblazer,” wrote Wendy Turner, Director of the Pilot Point Community Library. The Tocker Foundation brought the Trailblazer to her north Texas library in summer of 2015. “Visits to the library were way up that day and all the children who went through the museum had a wonderful time. I want to thank you again for choosing the Pilot Point Community Library to visit. It was an amazing program and I know the children (and adults) who went through it learned so much.”
Students exploring the Trailblazer learn about high-school academic endorsements, STEM careers and pay scales. They are also connected to next-step opportunities like after-school STEM clubs, STEM summer camps, and divisional and statewide TAME STEM competitions.
Thank you for making a difference in the lives of students, and for helping us build a workforce that looks like Texas.
