The TAME 2022 Valley Chapter Divisional STEM Competition was hosted at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley on March 26, 2022. Eighty-two student competitors from across the region attended the free event.
Texas students from grades 6-12 competed in teams to solve an all-new Engineering Design Challenge.
The top six teams from the Engineering Design Challenge were recognized. Three teams also received special Judges’ Choice Awards for innovation, teamwork, or perservance. Each team selected a Most Valuable Engineer from their team based upon collaboration, unique design suggestions, and team spirit.
Thanks to the support of TAME’s generous partners, STEM Competitions across Texas are offered free of charge for all participants. We are especially grateful to TAME’s 2022 State Competition Partner PPG and State Awards Partner Halliburton.
TAME thanks our Event Coordinators, Marcos Villereal, Nelinda Villereal, and Norma Trevino, our dedicated TAME Club Sponsors, and student volunteers from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley College of Engineering and Computer Science for celebrating achievement in STEM and making learning fun and exciting for Texas students.
The Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering (TAME) is a statewide non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring and preparing Texas students to join a strong and diverse STEM workforce. TAME programs encourage students to build skills and explore STEM concepts through hands-on activities, TAME Clubs, and statewide and divisional STEM Competitions.
