A handmade thank-you card sent to TAME from a 7th grade student, Alexia R. The trip she mentions was the 2015 State Math and Science Competition, which brought students from chapters all over Texas. Some students traveled over 16 hours by bus to compete.
TAME recently received a handmade card from a 7th grade student thanking the many people who made the 2015 State Math and Science Competition (now known as STEM competitions) possible. “I know that it must have taken a lot of thought, effort, time, and patience,” she writes, and makes a special effort to thank the volunteer who chaperoned her student group.
During the State Competition, the Presenting Host and Sponsor Lockheed Martin Aeronautics generously welcomed students, teachers, and volunteers on a tour of their cutting edge facility, where fighter jets are built. “I liked the tour because it really helped me,” she writes. “It helped me to believe that these competitions could lead me to a better future.”
She finishes with a thought for her fellow competitors, and for what next year might bring. “I hope that others enjoyed this experience as I did. I hope that I will be returning next year.”
We hope so, too. Keep up the hard work, Alexia! Thank you for your thoughtfulness.
