The Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering (TAME) is pleased to announce that longtime partner Shell Oil Company has generously awarded $90,000 to empower Texas students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math. Since its first gift to TAME in 1978, Shell has helped to build a STEM workforce that looks like Texas.
The funding will support all aspects of the TAME Trailblazer Program, bringing an innovative, mobile STEM engagement experience to students. The grant also funded the Outstanding Senior Award at the 2019 State STEM Competition, presented to Brie Pierce of the Winnsboro Engineering Club in TAME’s East Texas Chapter. Brie plans to attend Northeast Texas Community College and pursue a degree in Neuropsychology.
