The TAME 2022 East Texas Divisional STEM Competition was hosted at Region 7 Education Service Center on March 8, 2022. 131 student competitors from across the region attended the free event.
Texas students from grades 6-12 competed in teams to solve an all-new Engineering Design Challenge.
The top six teams from the Engineering Design Challenge were recognized. Three teams also received special Judges’ Choice Awards for innovation, teamwork, or perservance. Each team selected a Most Valuable Engineer from their team based upon collaboration, unique design suggestions, and team spirit.
Thanks to the support of TAME’s generous partners, STEM Competitions across Texas are offered free of charge for all participants. We are especially grateful to TAME’s 2022 State Competition Partner PPG and State Awards Partner Halliburton.
TAME thanks our Event Coordinators, Cyndi Nyvall, Paul Eyler, and Brooke Kinsman, our dedicated TAME Club Sponsors, and the many volunteers for celebrating achievement in STEM and making learning fun and exciting for Texas students.
The Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering (TAME) is a statewide non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring and preparing Texas students to join a strong and diverse STEM workforce. TAME programs encourage students to build skills and explore STEM concepts through hands-on activities, TAME Clubs, and statewide and divisional STEM Competitions.
