On March 4 at Kaffie Middle School, 69 middle and high school students from twelve TAME Clubs in the Corpus Christi area came together for the 2023 TAME Engineering Competition!  

The day was a flurry of creative exploration and collaboration as teams worked to develop a prototype for water transport, as well as the documentation and design proposal. The TAME Competition theme of water transport aligns with what many TAME Clubs have been learning about all year: the essential role of engineers in helping the world access clean water.  

The TAME Competition had fifteen mixed-age teams. The top six scoring teams were recognized at the event. Special Judges’ Choice Awards honored students who exemplified TAME’s 5Cs of engineering (Curious, Creative, Collaborative, Committed, Contributive). TAME also gave out a Senior Award to the graduating senior that has been most committed to learning through TAME’s programs.

TAME would also like to thank the 2023 TAME Engineering Competition season partners, General Motors, Halliburton Foundation, NI, The Boeing Company, ConocoPhillips, and Silicon Labs! We’re grateful for their generous funding support for this year’s engineering challenge that started with the Diving Deep into Water TAME Clubs curriculum and is coming alive throughout this TAME Competition season!
