Volunteers are at the heart of TAME’s programming
There are many ways to get involved!
TAME’s mission is to create equitable experiences for students from underrepresented groups to explore futures in engineering. Our afterschool engineering education programs, annual engineering competitions, and STEM scholarships are offered in communities statewide for middle and high school students, at no cost to families.
In each TAME Region, networks of volunteers, schools and community groups work together to provide Texas students with a engineering experiences – and inspiration. Whatever skills you bring, there is a place for you as a TAME volunteer!
Volunteer at a TAME Engineering Competition
TAME Regional Engineering Competitions bring together thousands of students to tackle a collaborative engineering challenge and make their case to the judges. Volunteer support ensures the events run smoothly:
- Set-up & Check-in Volunteers: help us prepare the space for our TAME Engineers.
- Design Challenge Judges: support our budding engineers as they tackle this year’s engineering challenge by asking them questions and assessing their work according to our rubric. Training provided!
- Clean-up Volunteers: celebrate the conclusion of a great event and help the TAME team leave the space as we found it.
To begin volunteering with TAME, please sign up in our volunteer system and share your interests with us.
