Find the Trailblazer at Discovery Green in downtown Houston, along with many other free, family-friendly exhibits, performances, food, and a 90-foot tall virtual reality trip to Mars!

Where are the practice tests that were listed by subject? As we announced earlier this year, TAME's Divisional and State STEM Competitions are evolving to better meet the needs of our participants. Permian Basin Area Foundation Awards $12,500 for STEM Learning

The Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering (TAME) is proud to announce that the Permian Basin Area Foundation has generously awarded $12,500 to empower students in the Permian Basin to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math.

The grant will support the TAME Trailblazers, bringing an innovative, mobile STEM engagement program to students at five locations in the Permian Basin area of West Texas. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of students, and for helping us build a workforce that looks like Texas.

2017 TAME Dallas STEM Competition Results

The 2017 TAME Capital Area STEM Competition was hosted at The University of Texas at Austin on Saturday February 4, 2017. The event, held free of cost to participants, brought together over 200 student competitors (grades 6-12) from across the region.


(Dallas, TX) – The 2017 TAME Dallas STEM Competition was hosted at Tarrant County College on Saturday February 11, 2017. The event, held free of cost to participants, brought together over 80 student competitors (grades 6-12) from across the region.

Students competed in individual math and science tests and were grouped into teams to participate in an Engineering Design Challenge. This year's challenge was developed by engineers from Boeing. The top three students from each test and the top three teams from the Engineering Design Challenge were recognized. Three teams also received a special Judges' Choice Award for creative problem solving.

TAME Scholarships Due Monday 6/6 - Don't Miss Out!

TAME Scholarship applications due Monday, June 6th
All TAME club members heading off to college in a STEM field can win scholarships set aside just for them. Applications are due in two weeks, so urge your students to apply.

Students submit one application to be considered for all applicable scholarships. The TAME Scholarship selection committee will review all applications and make final recommendations on the following awards:
  • ConocoPhillips ($2,000/award)
  • Pratt & Whitney ($2,000/award, Wichita Falls students only)
  • The University of Texas at Austin ($1,500, engineering majors only)
  • Texas A&M University ($500/award, engineering majors only)
  • Texas Tech University ($2,000/award, engineering majors only)
Students will also be considered for TAME scholarships offered by Prairie View A&M University and the University of Houston.
