Click on the program name for more information.

State Math and Science Competition - Middle and high school students compete within local alliances, some at a regional level as well, by taking tests in 16 areas of mathematics and science.  Winners participate in the statewide competition. Coaching sessions are used locally to improve students' test-taking skills as well as math/science competence. Statewide participants receive a TAME T-Shirt and are eligible for a variety of awards. Establishing success patterns for minority and female students in math and science is a high priority of the program, and the phrase that "EVERY statewide participant is a winner" is repeated often.  The 2008 Math & Science Competition will be held at the Lockheed Martin facility in Fort Worth.  Click here to see a list of the winners from the 2006 contest!

TAME Days at Universities - Many Texas colleges and universities individually host a day which TAME alliance high school students, parents, and sponsors are invited to participate in campus tours, engineering demonstrations, and workshops on financial aid, college life, and career opportunities in engineering and science. At all times, campus visitors are introduced to successful women and minority students who serve as role models.

TAME TRAILBLAZER- The TAME TRAILBLAZER has been fitted with a variety of engineering and science exhibits and travels across the state. Alliance volunteers and/or the TAME central office arrange for the sponsored Trailblazer events which take place at schools or as part of a community or corporate event.  Where possible, parents are invited to tour as well.  Volunteers are stationed throughout the trailers to provide oral explanations and demonstrations of the exhibits.  The Trailblazer continues to be an important outreach program and is made possible by generous support from Shell Oil Company, Texas Education Agency, Dow, ConocoPhillips and University of Texas at Austin.
