This year's theme is:

Essay/Poster Contest Rules

 

PLEASE NOTE:

The contest is open to all 6th, 7th & 8th grade students affiliated with a local TAME alliance.

Social security number and home address MUST be provided for all winners or a savings bond cannot be issued.

 

Poster Guidelines Essay Guidelines
  • No group projects allowed - must be the work of an individual
  • The alliance name or symbol can not be on the front of the poster
  • Use only a standard size (22" x 28") white poster board.
  • Poster board edges shall not be altered in any way
  • This year's exact theme must appear on the poster in letters at least 1" high
  • Inks, paints, watercolors, colored pencils and chalks may be used.  The selection and combination is up to the student
  • No black and white work - the poster must have color
  • No magazine, newspaper, computer generated drawings, or other cutouts are allowed
  • No stick-on lettering allowed and all words must be spelled correctly
  • Both essays AND posters must have the official contest label taped to the BACK. 
  • Essays should be 1 page typed or 2 pages handwritten, 500 word maximum
  • Essays should be formatted to include an introduction, body, and conclusion
  • Essays should express creativity and originality and relate to the poster
  • All words must be spelled correctly
